Stedec is a firm for structural engineering, specialized in developing and calculating building structures in concrete and steel. Stedec is one of the most important firms for structural engineering in West Flanders and each year Stedec is responsible for the structure of buildings with a total value of over 300 million Euros in the inland as well as in foreign countries.
Nowadays, a structural engineering is an important participant in the building process and in the building team. In cooperation with the project manager, the architect and general contractor, we always look for the most economic and optimal structural solution for each building. Because of the tight schedules and completion periods becoming shorter and since there is a lack of qualified construction workers, an integrated precast structure is the only solution. From the start, Stedec develops the most efficient precast structure for residential buildings as well as for office buildings.
From this point of view, Stedec provides not only the common structural engineering, but also studies where the formwork plans already take into account an execution in precast concrete. Furthermore, Stedec has the know-how to make production drawings of precast concrete elements, which can directly be implemented into the production process of the precast manufacturer. We can also adapt and optimize existing studies of structures in situ into a fully precast structure.
A BIM-model becomes the more and more important in construction. Stedec has the necessary know-how and software to be a full partner in de BIM-process of each project.
Structural engineering office Stedec was founded in 1985 by Koenraad Coelus, and has been acquired since 1 january 2018 by VK Engineering, part of the group VK Architects & Engineers.
